ATTRACTIONS

As Australia’s oldest inland city and the birthplace of regional Australia, Bathurst has wonderful heritage and prominence in the history of our nation.  In 2015, the launch of Stay Bathurst coincided with the city's bicentenary, the 200th anniversary of Bathurst being proclaimed on the banks of the Macquarie River by Governor Lachlan Macquarie.

There are so many things to see and do in the Bathurst region during your visit.  You could drive the iconic Mount Panorama circuit, visit the National Motor racing museum, the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum, play a round of golf, visit the various galleries, take in a performance at the entertainment centre, visit Jenolan or Abercrombie Caves, stroll the CBD viewing the historic architecture and Machattie Park, or visit the many wineries, the award winning distillery, restaurants and cafes, just to name a few.
